bar none

If the photo below looks a little fuzzy and out-of-focus to you...that is because it is.

Fuzzy.

Literally.

It is wool roving! Of course it is fuzzy...and soft...and delicate.

I have arranged it in layers in a crisscrossed manner.

And now...

...a little rectangle of (hotel) soap. I just knew they would come in handy!

And next...I will just wrap the wool roving around the soap ever-so-carefully.

Ta-da.

Now. A shower of just-hot-enough water.

And a careful sudsing....

Next, a rinse of cool water.

And a good squishing to release all of the excess water.

Am I crazy thinking that it is so stinking cute?

Please tell me "No, of course not!"

Good. Because I am making more felted soaps!

Wonder what I'll run out of first...soap? Or wool roving?

Dare I say..."This is good, clean fun!"

June 2 addendum:

I recently received a comment from someone who is set as *no-reply.* So, I thought I would just add onto this initial post and answer publicly.

Patricia kindly asked what felted soap would be used for. Good question!

For me personally, they're just quite adorable and you could design them to be very primitive looking or quite artsy-smartsy. Who doesn't need a conversation piece in their bathroom? (Not for conversation IN the bathroom necessarily, but....)

Another reason would be that the felt acts as a protective wrap, so to speak, for the soap. How wasteful are those little chunks of soap that still look as though they have a lot of use left...yet are just too little to manipulate in your hands...so they wind up getting thrown out in my house.

And here on the farm, we have a lot of soiled pairs of hands that need just a little extra *umph* to help come clean. The felted wool operates as a gentle exfoliator.

So there you have it! My 2 cents.

Very cute! i think you'll run out of soap first and have to take a trip and stay in a hotel to get more...

Interesting---but what do you use it for? No kidding, not being mean, but I have never heard of wool roving soap.
