Do you remember me giving you just a teaser of a peak...back in this post, this past April? Turns out...I can show you the finished product!
Ta-da....
Well...finished...by my definition: Top pieced, finished. Not quilting and binding attached and labeled, finished. (Play along and nod your head in agreement with me, would you please?)
The reason that I had to -- or thought I should, at least -- keep it secret from you for awhile? Well...I was submitting this little paper pieced project as a teaching proposal at a local quilt show in this great state of North Dakota. (Just how many prepositions can you use in one sentence?!) I just received an e-mail notification that I was not accepted.
And I am totally at peace with that. I'm not discouraged at all. That's just the way these things go. There will be other rain storms (which I happen to love)...and sunshine...and rain clouds.
And there will be more rainbows!

their loss! I love how your hand dyes pop against the black :-)
And I really really love your "finished" definition -- life would be so much more beautiful if I could make all the tops I wanted without the bother of sandwiching, quilting, labeling, binding... :-)
Just awesome ... I love the black dancing with the colors. TTFN ~ Marydon
I love finishing tops almost as much as finishing quilts!
I have a fan quilt on my *to do someday* list but I can guarantee it will be bigger than this one. Sorry the class proposal wasn't accepted but glad you're OK with it.
I really like it. I forgot to show you my first quilt when you were here. (Not that we had much spare time!) It's a rainbow rail fence on a black background. Great minds think alike.
Too bad you didn't get to teach. Is that the show in Grand Forks? I heard about it when I was at Faye's Henhouse. Maybe I should try to go. Will your sister have a booth there?
I'm sorry you won't get to teach your little quilt, but I love your attitude! Have a great weekend...
What a lovely poem my friend. I promise to think of you when I'm looking at the rainbows and contemplating the pots of gold.
Shimmers of Light and Love, *karendianne who thinks this is the most cuteamous little quilte ever on the planet! :)
(ps: what a FANTASTICAL photo of you that you've added here, too! I'm pleased and punch.)
Class or not, I think it's a great top. Beautiful colors, and I'm sure all your hand-dyed ones, right? They don't know what they're missing!
